- Starting Position: Begin in a crouched position on the floor with one leg bent and the other extended behind you, resting on your toes.
- Step 1: Move your right foot to the right side while shifting your weight onto your right foot.
- Step 2: Bring your left foot behind your right foot, placing it on the ground.
- Step 3: Shift your weight onto your left foot while bringing your right foot in front of your left leg.
- Step 4: Move your right foot to the right side again, similar to Step 1, but this time, shift your weight onto your right foot.
- Step 5: Bring your left foot back behind your right foot, placing it on the ground again.
- Step 6: Finally, shift your weight onto your left foot and bring your right foot back to the starting position.
The 6-step can be performed smoothly and quickly, creating a flowing motion. It’s often used as a foundational move for more advanced footwork and transitions in breakdancing. Dancers can add their style, speed, and variations to the 6-step to make it unique and dynamic.
