Flare is a breakdancing move that involves rotating your body in a circular motion while using your hands for support and maintaining a stable balance. The flare is known for its difficulty and requires significant strength, flexibility, and control.
How to Perform a Flare:
- Starting Position: Begin in a position similar to a handstand or a lunge. Place your hands on the ground shoulder-width apart, with your legs extended behind you.
- Kick Your Legs: To initiate the flare, kick one leg out to the side while swinging the other leg up and around in a circular motion. The leg that is kicked out will help you create momentum.
- Use Your Arms: As you kick your legs, push off the ground with your hands to help lift your body and maintain balance. Your arms will support your weight while your legs move in the desired direction.
- Rotate Your Body: As your legs move in a circular motion, your hips will rotate, allowing your body to spin around. Keep your core engaged to maintain control and stability throughout the move.
- Continue the Motion: Keep alternating your legs and pushing off with your arms to maintain the flow of the flare. Aim for a smooth, continuous motion rather than abrupt movements.
- Landing: To finish the flare, control your descent and land back into a stable position, such as a crouch or standing.
