Front Roll

In breakdancing, a “Front Roll” is a type of ground move where the dancer rolls forward, usually in a controlled and fluid motion. Here’s a breakdown of how it’s typically executed:

  • Starting Position: The dancer begins in a low squat or kneeling position, often with their hands placed on the ground for support.
  • Roll Initiation: The dancer tucks their head and shoulders forward, using their hands to push off the ground while bringing their legs over their body.
  • Execution: As the dancer rolls forward, they aim to keep their body in a smooth, rounded position. The roll should flow naturally, with the dancer transitioning seamlessly from the squat or kneeling position into the roll.
  • Finish: The dancer completes the roll by coming back to their feet or transitioning into another move. The goal is to maintain control and fluidity throughout the roll.

The Front Roll is often used in combination with other moves and can be an impressive way to transition between different elements of a breakdancing routine.
